Cathy Erway’s Dumpling Making Contest

Hey, dumpling lovers! Join Cathy Erway, celebrated author of The Food of Taiwan and The Art of Eating In, at Taste Asia for the first ever Dumpling Making Contest.

We’ll be choosing three Dumpling Apprentices to learn how to make juicy pork dumplings from scratch with Ms. Erway live in Times Square. All three apprentices will win a sweet prize, but only one apprentice will obtain the ultimate honor of “Dumpling Master.” To be deemed the Dumpling Master, an apprentice must master the technique and fold the most beautiful dumplings on stage. The master will win a two piece Asian cook’s knife set!

To enter to be a Dumpling Apprentice, tweet a description of your most creative dumpling filling and hashtag #TasteAsiaNYC. These deliciously unique dumplings could be sweet or savory, or sweet and savory—go wild! For example: “Apples, cinnamon, caramel #TasteAsiaNYC” or “Butternut squash, pesto, goat cheese #TasteAsiaNYC.” Apprentices must be able to join us in Times Square on Friday, June 26.
